Cassign History
1983: The Origins of Cassidy Signs & Designs
Established in 1983, Cassign is a well-credentialed family-run sign company located in Warrnambool, Victoria. With a commitment to quality service and craftsmanship, Cassign has grown to become a leader in the sign industry.
The company's journey began when David Cassidy, hailing from Edenhope, Victoria, started the business as a sole proprietor. A year later, David made the pivotal decision to relocate to Warrnambool, driven by his passion for both signwriting and football. While playing under renowned coach Grant Thomas, he continued to operate his business under the name 'Cassidy Signs & Designs', providing signwriting services for local businesses.
The 1990s: Expansion and the Birth of ‘Cassign’
As the 1990s dawned, the growing enterprise moved into its first commercial premises on Raglan Parade. This marked the beginning of a period of steady expansion, with David gradually hiring his first employees to meet increasing demand.
By the turn of the millennium, the company had shortened its name to 'Cassign' and begun to make inroads into the corporate signage market. This strategic shift led to major contracts with well-known brands such as Ray White, The Good Guys, and Banksia, allowing the workforce to expand to 5-6 employees.
2000 – 2012: Corporate Growth and Purpose-Built Facilities
The late 2000s saw the addition of key personnel who would shape the company's future. Brady Cassidy, Daniel Vickery, and Claye Cassidy joined the team, bringing fresh perspectives and skills.
In 2012, Cassign took a significant step forward by constructing its current premises at 13 Chatham Court, providing a modern, purpose-built facility to support its growing operations.
2013 - 2023: A New Decade of Innovation
The following decade was characterized by continuous growth and diversification. Cassign established a separate fabrication division and secured contracts with industry giants like Telstra, Stihl, and Goodyear.
The company expanded its facilities to include specialised workshops and vehicle wrap bays, broadening its range of services and technical capabilities.
2024: A Legacy Continued & New Leadership
After four decades of successful leadership, founder David Cassidy retired in 2024, passing the torch to long-time staff members Brady, Claye, and Dan, who purchased the business. This transition ensured the continuation of Cassign's values and vision while ushering in a new era of leadership.
Cassign Today: 100% Locally Owned and Operated
Today, Cassign stands as a testament to local success and growth. The company employs 17 staff members, all from the local area, and remains 100% locally owned.
True to its roots, Cassign continues to give back to the community by sponsoring local events and supporting local businesses, embodying the spirit of regional entrepreneurship and community engagement.
From its humble beginnings to its current status as a thriving local enterprise, Cassign's story is one of steady growth, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to quality in the sign industry. As it looks to the future, Cassign remains dedicated to serving its clients with the same passion and expertise that has defined its journey for over four decades.
